One Week In Guyana

Everything went by so quickly.
Georgetown, Guyana is so far so good.
I have feared coming to this country because of what I have read online, this country and its people are known for being anti-gay. Needless to say, I am gay and my partner too! :)
We moved to this country because of my partner's work.
I have yet to encounter any discrimination but that is because I have never really gone out- that is to explore the city not to get bashed on the street. Haha!
The hotel we are staying is so far effective when it comes to security; the staff are okay- the female staff are nicer and are always greeting me with smiles unlike the guys.
I am not sure why, but I find most male workers in the hotel rather unapproachable to say it modestly. They almost always have this look in their faces that intimidates me.

On another topic, I don't like soft water shower.
I'm not certain if it's just the water system in the hotel or it's a countrywide thing.
I don't like the slimy feeling after showering. No, using less soap is not an option.
I am hoping that the house I find would not have softener in the water system because it would drive me crazy.
It's been a week and I have yet to meet a real estate agent to help me find a place to move in to.
Sigh!
Anyway, here are few photos I have taken during a short trip to town.
